Strengthening the resilience of the OT (Operational Technology) environment
Challenge
An industrial company with mission-critical operations relied on ECIX to manage its traditional cybersecurity services—perimeter protection, infrastructure, and monitoring. However, its environment OT (Operational Technology) This represented a particularly sensitive point: an interruption in production could lead to losses in the millions and severe operational risks.
The challenge was to extend the security strategy to this environment, integrating advanced capabilities that would allow detect and respond to threats before they affect business continuity.
Approach
ECIX expanded the existing cybersecurity framework, incorporating specific measures for the protection of the OT environment, guaranteeing the segregation of industrial networks, continuous monitoring and early detection of anomalies.
Later, they joined cyber intelligence systems Focused on the active monitoring of open sources and dark web environments, with the aim of identifying information exfiltration, credential sales, and potential attack vectors targeting the client.
Thanks to this integration, the ECIX team was able to proactively detect the sale of corporate credentials, activating response protocols before they led to a security incident.
Results
The implementation of these measures allowed strengthen the resilience of the OT environment, ensuring operational continuity and minimizing the risk of production interruptions.
The client moved from a reactive approach to a model proactive and predictive cybersecurity, with the ability to anticipate potential internal and external threats.
Furthermore, early detection of attempts to sell credentials prevented potential attacks. preserving the operational integrity and reputation of the organization.
